San Antonio teams made a strong statement in the bi-district round of the 2026 UIL Class 6A girls basketball playoffs. Programs from Region IV once again showed their trademark style: physical defense, controlled tempo, and disciplined execution.

Here’s a straightforward look at how the area’s top teams performed and what to expect in Round 2.

Bi-District Scores (Round 1)

The following results are from the Region IV bi-district round of the Class 6A girls basketball playoffs:

  • Bowie 43, Round Rock 42
  • Cedar Ridge 57, Lake Travis 47
  • Buda Johnson 67, Laredo United 63
  • Westlake 53, Vista Ridge 38
  • Vandegrift 47, Austin High 30
  • San Marcos 65, Laredo Alexander 50
  • Brennan 67, Reagan 26

Warren advanced (26-9 record pairing for Area play)  Brennan advanced to Area after a strong bi-district showing and 30-4 record  Buda Johnson won its bi-district game (67-63) 

Area Round Matchups

Here are the confirmed Area Round (Round 2) games for Class 6A especially those involving San Antonio and Region IV teams:

6A Division I — Region IV

  • Bowie (24-11) vs. San Antonio Warren (26-9) — Thursday at 7 p.m. at Johnson High School in Buda 
  • Cedar Ridge (18-10) vs. San Antonio Brennan (30-4) — Friday at 8 p.m. Seguin High School
  • Buda Johnson (10-21) vs. La Joya (26-12) — Friday at 6 p.m. at Carroll High School in Corpus Christi 

6A Division II — Region IV

  • Westlake (36-0) vs. San Antonio Sotomayor (30-4) — Friday at 8 p.m. at Canyon High School
  • New Braunfels  Vandegrift (28-6) vs. San Antonio Harlan (21-10) — Friday at 6 p.m. at Pieper High School
  • San Marcos (21-11) vs. Harlingen (24-9) — Friday at 6 p.m. at Calallen High School

What to Know for Area Rounds

San Antonio teams have multiple Area Round games against strong regional foes including Bowie, La Joya, Cedar Ridge, and Sotomayor.  Brennan and Warren represent San Antonio heavy hitters in Division I.  Harlan and Sotomayor are the other 6A D2 San Antonio teams in action. 

These are the games that will define the next wave of Region IV advancement toward the regional finals and a shot at the state tournament in San Antonio.
