AEW’s return to San Antonio was a night packed with storylines, high-impact matches, and a fired-up Freeman Coliseum crowd. The show blended intensity with narrative depth, setting up key feuds heading into Full Gear.
The Opps vs. The Hurt Syndicate — AEW World Trios Championship

The show opened with a brutal fight for the Trios Titles. Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Katsuyori Shibata defended against Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, and MVP. After losing at WrestleDream 2025, The Opps came in meaner than ever. Backstage, Joe declared himself “the hunter, not the hunted,” taking aim at anyone in his path.
Inside the ring, it was a war of power and precision. Lashley nearly turned the match around with a spear through the ropes, but Joe caught MVP in the Coquina Clutch for the submission. The Opps remain champions, while The Hurt Syndicate looks more determined than defeated.
Women’s 4-Way Tag Match — Hayter & Aminata Advance

Jamie Hayter and Queen Aminata earned their momentum back in a fast-paced 4-Way Tag Match featuring Skye Blue & Julia Hart, Willow Nightingale & Harley Cameron, and Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford.
With the AEW Women’s Tag Team Championship Tournament revealed earlier in the night, every team fought for position. Blue’s top-rope dive wowed the crowd, but Hayter sealed the win with a Ripcord Lariat on Ford. Backstage, Mercedes Moné’s celebration turned chaotic when Kris Statlander ambushed her, setting up their Full Gear clash. The women’s division feels alive again.
Jon Moxley vs. Kyle O’Reilly

This match told a story of frustration and unraveling. Moxley, still reeling from his loss at WrestleDream, showed cracks in his usual composure. O’Reilly focused on Moxley’s arm, but the former champion snapped, punching the referee and earning a disqualification loss.
Afterward, Moxley attacked security, leaving fans divided between concern and excitement. It’s clear AEW is leaning into a darker side of his character as he searches for redemption.
Main Event: Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. Bandido — AEW Unified Championship

The main event was a masterclass in pacing and precision. Bandido nearly shocked the world with his aerial offense, but Okada’s experience proved too much. In a brilliant counter, Okada turned Bandido’s 21-Plex into a Rainmaker Lariat to retain the title.
After the match, Konosuke Takeshita entered the ring, staring down Okada and hinting at fractures within the Don Callis Family. The seeds of AEW’s next big storyline may have been planted right there in San Antonio.
